A Miniature Piece of History
From 8th – 10th November I will be exhibiting my work at Handmade in Chelsea, It’s a fantastic show packed with products from contemporary designers, makers and craftsmen. I’m particularly excited about this show as it is my 25th year running Ben Taggart Modelmaking & Design and to celebrate I’m launching a new product – an architectural portrait model combined with a fully researched house history. This idea encompasses all of the facets of my present work.
Over the last 10 years my colleague and friend Paul Murray and I have been running a separate business ARCHISTORY, where I have created architectural drawings and combined them with Paul’s highly detailed house histories to produce large graphic designs, house portraits in themselves.
I now plan to offer a service fusing my house history and model making work together to produce unique artefacts crossing the boundaries of architectural and graphic design, typography and historic property research.
