This commission was a first for me, and I hope that this might set a trend with other clients who have taken on a renovation project. The owners of this house in a quiet street in Wandsworth, South London, decided that after living there for a few years they were going to take some drastic action. They made the decision to completely demolish their home, which was constructed in 1978 squeezed in between Victorian terraced houses, and design their dream house to fit the space. The building they made was completed in 2022 and has maximised the room available, adding another storey to the property, along with extensive new space at the rear and even a roof terrace with a glass parapet. Having lavished much time and effort on this stunning transformation, the owners asked me to create a ‘before and after’ model, showing the two designs of the same house front, separated by nearly 40 years.
